Well for starters
My name is Stephanie Tait. I am 18 years old and I just graduated from high school. Wowza… so what’s next? Well, college is on the horizon. I will be going to Hawai’i Pacific University on the Presidential Scholarship with a major in Business Management.
I love spending hours in the kitchen concocting up experiments and pouring through old recipe books or browsing the internet for recipes I might like to try. Along with a passion for cooking and eating is my typical teenage girl self who is constantly obsessing over her figure and diet. It is a tough balancing act for these two parts of myself and I am still trying to figure it all out.
I love reading, baking, cooking, writing, and wearing tie dye. My favorite color at the moment is mint green. My favorite food is Eggplant parmesan yummmm. I am obsessed with the movie Singing In the Rain (Gene Kelly 1952 If you haven’t watched it I suggest you do so immediately) and I love Calvin and Hobbes Comics. My boyfriend is Thomas, he is my high school sweet heart, the love of my life and all that jazz. Unfortunately he is going to school 3000 miles away. We like to workout together and go on picnics and be homecoming King and Queen and do all those stupid couple things that make other people hate us, but we don’t care.
Even though I live in Hawai’i, I don’t like to surf or spend prolonged hours at the beach (I’m very paranoid about getting skin cancer) and I’m just as content to snuggle up in my room with a good book on a rainy day. I am however discontented about moving away to college because I will be giving up a perfectly good kitchen so that means no more baking or cooking, a beautiful 6 acre lawn in the country with chickens, horses, dogs, cats, and a cow, but most importantly I will be trading in my beautiful queen sized bed for a college dorm twin. Sweet. So Excited. But I think the next year will have so awesome things in store for me like new friends, a new city, and a time to be on my own for once. So it’s not all bad. I am a little concerned about how I am going to eat because I am absolutely not going to become a vegan junky who gets her fix with oreos and french fries dipped in veganaise. But with a limited budget and a school cafeteria that sounds a little shady (according to my sister who also went to HPU) it sounds like I am going to have to get pretty creative.
